The ‘advertising promotions’ article highlights the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) Code guidance on promotions and includes guidance on including significant conditions, not promising a prize you can’t deliver, being socially responsible, and holding evidence for any claims made.

The ‘taking social responsibility seriously’ article explores the concept of the advertisers’ and marketers’ desire to ‘push boundaries’ against the fundamental ASA / CAP code requirements that they must still prepare their ads with a sense of responsibility to consumers and society (see ASA / CAP Code Rule 1.3).  This can include ensuring that environmental claims do not mislead the public about the environmental impact of a business or product.
