Context
The ICO has published its Annual Report 2021/22. The document reflects a year of action and progress in supporting information rights in the UK, and presents a body of work that, according to the new Information Commissioner John Edwards, the ICO can be proud of.
Key points to note
The report is split into three sections:
- Performance report which reviews the work across 2021/22. It sets out key achievements, with case studies providing in-depth examination of some of the most impactful work. This section concludes with statistics covering the full range of operational performance, summary reports on financial performance, sustainability and whistleblowing disclosures made to the ICO, and a statement on the ICO’s status as a going concern.
- Accountability report which includes declarations about corporate governance, remuneration and staffing, and parliamentary accountability and audit reporting. In this section further details are provided about internal structures.
