Link(s): | Attestations | FCA Number of Attestations requested in 2025/26 Q1 (1 April 2025 – 30 June 2025) |
Context
An attestation is a firm’s formal statement that it will take, or has taken, an action the FCA requires. The FCA uses attestations as a supervisory tool to ensure that regulated firms (and senior individuals within them) are clearly accountable for taking the required actions. The FCA has updated the Attestations web page to include links to .pdf versions of its published quarterly attestations data, including Q1 2025/26.
Key points to note and next actions
- The April to June 2025 data shows a total of 11 attestations, only one of which was in the insurance sector, and that was for a ‘Dedicated supervision firm’ (so most likely to have been an insurer, or a very large intermediary).
- For 2025/26, published attestations data has been updated to reflect the FCA’s current framework for classifying firms by financial market.
- Details of the FCA’s Approach to Supervision can be found on its website.
- The figures stated are correct as of 30th June 2025 but may be subject to change.
