Context
In its Regulation Round-Up issued on 26th June, the FCA announced that it is reviewing the Firm Details Attestation form to improve guidance, navigation, and accessibility as part of the improvements being made to its Authorisation forms.
Key points to note and next actions
To improve data quality, the FCA plans to strengthen validation on all existing fields and verification for e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and addresses.
For firms registered with Companies House, the FCA plans to implement data matching for firms’ registered name, registered address, and financial year end. The FCA therefore strongly encourages firms to review and update their data held by Companies House before completing their next attestation. The FCA intends to begin rolling out the new form later this year.
