FCA – Update on Directory of Certified and Assessed Persons

Context

The FCA has provided an update containing a reminder of the deadline dates for firms in relation to the submission of Directory Persons data and when this data will begin to appear on the Financial Services Register.

Key points to note

  • Solo regulated firms must submit their Directory Persons data via Connect by 31 March 2021, using the single-entry submission form.
  • Firms are able to submit information earlier than March if they wish.
  • The data, which firms will be responsible for maintaining, will be published on the Financial Services Register and will begin to appear from 14 December as the information is submitted.
  • To appear on the directory at the outset submissions must be made by 9 December 2020.
  • Firms can use the single submission form to submit data up to the 31 March 2021 deadline.
  • Firms with more than 10 directory persons can submit using the multiple add or amend submission form between 26 November 2020 and 4 December 2020, however a timeslot must be assigned for this.
  • The FCA has already contacted a number of firms which it believes would want to use the multiple add or amend data submission.
