Context
The FCA has launched the new Form A to the subset of firms which have been helping the FCA to test it, and the FCA will begin rolling the new Form out to more firms this week. The information below explains how the roll-out will work.
Key points to note
- During this week, the FCA will have started to contact Limited scope and Enhanced firms which frequently use Form A via e-mail, and which provided information on how to take part in public testing of the new Form A.
- The FCA is asking firms which are contacted, and which are eligible, to use the improved version and provide feedback as instructed.
- The e-mail will come from gateway.userresearch@fca.org.uk and contain a link that can be used to submit standalone applications (i.e., those not related to an Appointed Representative, New Authorisation or Variation of Permission application) on behalf of solo-regulated entities
- The form will be rolled out gradually to frequent users of the Form A based on their Senior Manager & Certification Regime (CM&CR) category. After this, the form will be released to all firms (including dual-regulated entities).
- During the transition period firms can choose to continue submitting Form A applications using the old form, but this will be decommissioned once the new form rollout is complete.
- Applications related to an Appointed Representative, a new Authorisation or a Variation of Permission application will be updated in due course and will continue to use the current version of the form until updated.
Next actions
The FCA will be updating its web page with more information over the next few days, so firms should review that page in the first instance if they have any questions.
